Student Poster Competition

The International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) Midwest Chapter will hold a “Student poster competition” at the Chapter meeting poster session for all student poster authors. The goal of the competition is to recognize posters with novel statistical methods or statistical applications. Any student within the Midwest Chapter is eligible to participate in the competition. The student should be the first author, the presenting author or the corresponding author of the poster. All participating students should submit their abstract before the deadline, ideally with a letter from his/her advisor(s) on the author’s contribution to the content of the poster. The poster size has the upper limit as 4 ft wide by 3 ft high.

All participating posters will be evaluated by the poster award committee during the poster presenting session, based on the following criteria: presence and quality of statistical significance, novelty of the technical content, accessibility to a broad audience, accuracy of language, layout of the content, readability of the presentation and graphics. The top three posters will be given as the poster award with price (200 dollars for the first place, 150 dollars for the second place and 100 for the third place). The next two posters will be awarded as honorable mention (a gift from the Midwest chapter).

Submission Deadline: October 12

Please send your abstract and other relevant information to [email protected]. You also need to register the meeting for your poster to be considered.
